My name is Guillaume Kashima. I was born in Japan and grew up in a small village in Provence, in the south of France. I’ve been based in Berlin for many years, working as a freelance illustrator and graphic designer on both commercial projects for international brands and editorial work for magazines.

Alongside this career, I developed a personal practice in print and ceramics. In print, I often work in black and white, drawing from DIY fanzines, risoprints, and photocopies, finding beauty in limitations. In ceramics, I hand-build plates, bowls, and masks, letting clay’s unpredictability guide me while bringing in the same graphic instincts of cut-and-paste forms, bold lines, and simple palettes.

Though the mediums differ, my approach is the same: I work with the character of each material, embrace constraints, and let accidents shape the outcome. Whether on paper or in clay, my goal is to create objects that are bold, direct, and alive.
